Some times your iPhone may be stuck on the Apple logo, causing it to not load the Home Screen or apps. Fortunately, the phone is not broken.
The iPhone may experience data corruption issues due to various factors such as restoring corrupted files from iCloud or iTunes backups, jailbreaking the iPhone, dropping it, or suffering water damage, although it is water-resistant but not waterproof. These issues can lead to software issues and boot loops.
However, Here are 4 things to do if your iPhone gets stuck on the Apple logo screen:
1. Forcefully Restart Device:
If It’s an iPhone 8, iPhone SE or something higher do this:
To unlock the iPhone, press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons simultaneously.
Then press and hold the phone’s Side button until the Apple logo appears.
During the rebooting phase, the screen may flash before powering down.
This process should resolve most issues, but may not work in some cases.
If it’s an an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus, then do this:
Press and hold the Side button and Volume Down button simultaneously, wait for a few seconds, and release the phone.
2. Update Device:
To resolve this issue, ensure your iPhone 15 is running iOS 17.0.2, an update released in September 2023. When setting up your new iPhone, skip the Quick Start page and choose Update Now when prompted. Once downloaded, start the data transfer process from Quick Start. If you skipped the Update Now step, follow the prompts until you reach the Home Screen and go to Settings > General > Software Update to install the iOS version.
3. Update iOS:
If your iPhone 15 device freezes on the Apple logo after a force restart, try reinstalling iOS instead. And you’re using a macOS Catalina or later, open Finder first. If you’re using a Windows PC or Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier, open iTunes. Connect your iPhone to Finder or iTunes, force restart, and hold down the buttons until you see the Recovery Mode screen. Choose Update when getting the update or restore options, and your computer will download and reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
4. Factory Restore Your iPhone:
To fix an iPhone not turning on, perform a factory restore, erasing all data. Recovering data is easier if you back up your iPhone’s data to a computer or iCloud.
(NOTE: If you don’t backup your data, you will lose all of it when you complete this step)
5. Visit an Apple Store:
In most occasions it is advisable to visit the closest Apple store in your location to debug any software or hardware issue that may be the cause. The repair may reveal hidden hardware issues, like a damaged logic board. To schedule an appointment, visit an Apple Store at a Genius Bar, if nearby.
