If you’re experiencing blinking issues with your iPhone camera, don’t be quick to panic. Just follow these steps to fix it.
1. Re-launch the Camera App:
To fix blinking issues, first close and relaunch the Camera app. Open the App Switcher by double-tapping the Home button. Swipe to the Camera app and then close it. Reopen the app and check if the issue persist.
Additionally, re-launching apps is an effective solution for iPhone app crashes.
2. Exit Macro Mode:
The camera may continue to blink even after restarting the app, possibly due to the built-in macro mode for detailed close-up photos. If blinking occurs only when taking close-ups, it can be due to the camera switching to the ultra-wide lens. To disable macro mode, go to Settings and toggle off Macro Control.
The iPhone 13 Pro, 14 Pro, and 15 Pro models exclusively feature Macro Control, which is not available on the camera settings page for non-owners.
3. Adjust Camera Exposure:
The iPhone camera automatically adjusts exposure based on environment, reducing it in bright environments and increasing it in dark ones. However, this may not always be ideal, leading to blinking. To manually adjust exposure, tap the chevron icon at the top of the Camera app, then use the circular button with a plus and minus icon to find the ideal exposure level. Once satisfied, tap the Shutter button to take a picture.
4. Restart Your Device:
Restarting your iPhone can resolve most smartphone issues, including blinking of the camera. This process clears memory data, releases resources, and restarts all apps, including the Camera app. Depending on the model, there are different ways to restart your iPhone. If the camera still blinks after trying these solutions, it’s time to contact Apple support. The Apple Support app can provide tech support for your iPhone. If the issue is hardware-related, you may need to take your iPhone to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for lens replacement, which may cost a lot unless you have an AppleCare+ warranty.
